A contagious infection caused by bacteria that mainly affects the lungs but can also affect any other organ including bone, brain and spine.

Symptoms may include:

• Cough which lasts for more than 2 - 3 weeks
• Cough with blood in sputum
• Sudden weight loss
• Night sweats
