Nottingham Castle is a once-fortified castle in Nottingham, England, later replaced by a Stuart Restoration era ducal palace.The Castle's original Norman construction was begun in 1068 and added to extensively through the Medieval period. In the Middle Ages, it was an important royal fortress and occasional royal residence.

1670s – A large orchard is planted on the side of Mount Royal during the mid-1670s. 1670 – Hudson's Bay Company founded. 1670–80 – Initially, trading is done in people's homes; traders soon set up stalls between Rue Saint-Paul and the Little St. Pierre River, west of the marketplace. Natives camp on the Point, numbering about 900 in 1672.
