    With the First Partition of Poland, Strzelno, under the Germanized name Strelno, was annexed by Prussia in 1772. In 1807, it was regained by Poles and included within the short-lived Polish Duchy of Warsaw. After the duchy's dissolution, in 1815, the town was re-annexed by Prussia. In 1837, the monastery was closed.
