I'm currently self studying ancient Greek philosophy and thought I had an understanding of Being and Becoming, but after learning about Parmenides' ideas I'm starting to question that understanding: Being is the state of something existing in nature. Becoming is the constant change that things in nature undergo (similar to the concept of entropy).

The immediate Parmenidean reaction (in which being precedes becoming), or Empedoclean appropriation (adding love to strife as universal principles, a concept Holderlin struggled with in his, also incomplete, mourning-play "The Death of Empedocles"), is one thing.
