Hello, all! I've got what may be a doozy. My great-grandfather was a deserter from the Russian army during the Russo-Japanese War. According to the family story (I know, I know, all things taken with a grain of salt), he was being held under armed guard in preparation for a court martial and likely execution for insubordination (long story).
