Princeton bioethicist Peter Singer argues that religion’s main problem is its promotion of what he calls “speciesism” – the view that the human species is in some way exceptional compared to the rest of the animal world. I am sure that if he learned he helped “drive” a fellow atheist to Jesus, he would be more than a little annoyed.
