Goryokaku Fort or park is a National special historic site in Hakodate. I went for the cherry blossoms because they are in full bloom this time of year. Several other attractions there like the observation tower and temple.

In order to enjoy your visit to Goryokaku Park more, you can rent a row boat. It's not a bad idea to get some exercise by rowing a boat. You can ride on this small boat and enjoy the view of the park. Once around the moat is about 1.5km and it will take about 40 minutes.
