  1. The generation of entangled photons is a key element in the radar transmitter. To this end, a nonlinear crystal is used to generate entangled photons. In other words, it splits an incoming photon into two entangled photons. In this view, semiconductor nanostructures are implemented to create entangled photons.

What are entanglement photon pairs used for?
Entangled photon pairs are useful for a variety of applications including quantum cryptography, quantum computing, and quantum teleportation [80–82]. However, it is not enough to create such pairs: one should also be able to distribute them over long distances without destroying their entanglement.

How can I detect entangled photons at 895 nm?
A silicon avalanche photodiode is used to detect the photons at 895 nm, and a periodically poled lithium niobate waveguide based up-conversion detector [3] developed in our lab is used to detect the photons at 1310 nm. The measured entangled photon- pair flux rate is 650 Hz and the interference fringe visibility is 79.4% without noise subtraction.

Why do photons become entangled in black holes?
Because photons also possess angular momentum and polarization (hence why polarized glasses work the way they do), when they are created inside a spinning black hole’s accretion disk they can become entangled to the black hole itself.

Quantum entanglement is the phenomenon that occurs when a group of particles are generated, interact, or share spatial proximity in a way such that the quantum state of each particle of the group cannot be described independently of the state of the others, including when the particles are separated by a large distance. The topic of quantum entanglement is at the heart of the disparity bet…
