The geological exploration work carried out by OOO Baikal Nedra Geo in the period from 2018 to the present time at the Kalyumnoye subsurface site and traversing outside it, together with the analysis of data from previous geological surveys, allow us to present a picture of the formation of the Synnyr massif as follows: 1.

Massif. The volcanic massif, a geological structural unit between the volcanic edifice and the volcanic lithofacies, is a volcanic rock combination, of the same genesis, localized eruptive or intrusive, and continuously distributed.

A massif is an undisturbed solid rock mass, which is demarcated by e.g. faults. Massifs keep their internal structure and are displaced as a whole. Only mountains of mountain ranges fulfilling this criteria are called massifs.

Geological path. The Platé Mountain owes its name to its vast stretches of gently sloping limestone, such as the Platé Desert or the Sales bowl. Numerous fossils bearing witness as to how the different environments evolved over the course of its 170 million year history: from deep seas to reef environment, from lagoons to inland waters.

geological history. Comprehensive mapping was undertaken by Dr L. 1. Grange and his assistants in 1929 and 1930 (Grange, Williamson, and Hurst, 1938), but without the benefit of a satisfactory base map. The most comprehensive report on the geology of the massif is that of Gregg (1960) illustrated by the old maps of Grange.
