The county of Cheshire is located in North West England. There are four unitary authorities within Cheshire; Cheshire East, Chester West and Chester, Halton, and Warrington. The county town is the city of Chester.

The county of Cheshire is considered a “ceremonial” county in the UK, as there is no elected authority, but rather, a Sheriff and Lieutenant for ceremonial purposes. According to a 2011 Census, 81% of the population of Cheshire describes itself as Christian, with the remaining population not identifying with a religion or not answering the question.
