A VDU assessment is the same as a DSE assessment or a workstation assessment. Anyone who is regularly using a display screen/computer at work should have one.

It explains what employers may need to do to protect their employees from any risks associated with display screen equipment (DSE), ie computers and laptops. If you are a significant display screen “user” as defined in the Health and Safety (Display Screen Equipment) Regulations you are entitled to an eye test, paid for by your employer. You will be a “significant user” if you habitually use a VDU as a significant part of your normal work.
