This is the current era. Rock music has developed a lot since it began in 1950. The technology is very modern and there are many genres of rock music. Rock music is still popular today but along with rock music, other types of music are popular among different audiences. A lot of the music which was present years ago is still popular among people.

Rock music, where did it all begin? Believe it or not a black man who played black music, originally founded rock music in the mid 50s, this man was Chuck Berry. Rock became popular almost over night, and was accepted with open arms by the younger generations.

The Beginnings. Chuck Berry invented rock and roll in 1955. He was a black man playing black music. But times had changed: white kids were listening to rhythm and blues throughout the Northeast, and white musicians were playing rhythm and blues side to side with country music.
