26/03/2020 · Cherokee has six main vowels. They are “a”, “e”, “i”, “o”, “u”, and “v”. They are generally pronounced as follows: a: as (a) in f a ther. e: as (a) in c a ke. Some speakers shift this letter to sound more like the “e” in “echo”. i: as (e) in P e te. Some speakers shift this letter to sound more like the “i” in “p i t”.

13/01/2022 · The Cherokee language is considered a Class IV language in its degree of difficulty in terms of spoken form. The Cherokee syllabary is the written form of the language. It is not an alphabet, but instead contains 85 distinct characters that represent the full spectrum of sounds used to speak Cherokee – one character for each discrete syllable.
