Petroglyph National Park, Boca Negra Trail: one of two trails that are quite close to the visitor center. Easily located on a map, you will need a couple small bills to cover the honor system entry fee. Prudent footwear is important here. The rocks are volcanic in nature and will f*** you up if you're not careful.

Petroglyphs Provincial Park is a great day trip idea in the Peterborough area. Note that you won't be able to camp at this park. Park closes at 5pm and last cars are allowed in at 4:30 pm. I would recommend arriving by 2 pm at the latest to give yourself time to explore the Visitor's Centre, the Petroglyphs site, and do some hiking.
