It’s important to realise that the Rome Empire was a period encompassed by Ancient Rome. Ancient Rome refers to the very beginning of the city of Rome, founded in the 8th century BC, and it’s expansion, through to the collapse of the Western Roman Empire in the 5th century AD.

Others claim it happened much later, in 1453 at the fall of Constantinople. There is one theory, that is often over looked. This theory holds that the Roman Empire is still alive, and thriving today, stronger, wealthier, and more influential than ever. And it was all due to a shift in policy back to 312, when Constantine converted to Christianity.

The Roman empire did not fall, only the western half fell. Basically, if you look at the map again, everything in green and east remained under the rule of the emperor in Constantinople until the 15th century, when the Turks finally toppled the Roman empire (though it had ceased to be "Roman" a millennium before).
