Persian also called Farsi is the official language of Iran. It is also the predominant language of literature, sciences, journalism, etc. However, there are a number of languages and dialects spoken all around Iran. These languages and dialects contain Indo-European, Altaic, and Afro-Asiatic.
Although Persian (Farsi) is the predominant and official language of Iran, a number of languages and dialects from three language families— Indo-European, Altaic, and Afro-Asiatic —are spoken. Roughly three-fourths of Iranians speak one of the Indo-European languages.
To start with, Persian is the official language of Iran, but it’s not even in the same language family as Arabic. Persian is an Indo-European tongue, and Arabic belongs to the Afro-Asiatic family. Second of all, Persian and Farsi are two names for the same language.
