The Levantine Basin is located in the eastern Mediterranean Sea off the coast of Israel. Specifically, the main discovery of this basin is the Leviathan Gas Field. The water depth averages 1600m or roughly 5250ft. Drilling started in 2010 by Houston-based Noble Energy which contracted drilling operations to Transocean.
