  1. 60 full frames per second

1080p60 or 1080/60p is 60 full frames per second, and 1080/60p cameras sample at ~148 MHz, outputing ~3 Gbps HD signals. So far, because of the doubled bandwidth, that's mostly for professional use, such as archiving. But 1080/60p cameras are often used with downconversion for 720/60p sports, or to output 1080i signals.

Is 1080/60p a viable option now?
1080/60p was simply not an option 12 years ago - and it is only just becoming one now! (And most broadcast set-top boxes and broadcast OTA standards are still 1080/60i or 1080/50i only - even the latest DVB-T2 stuff in Europe which uses massively more advanced modulation to deliver 40Mbs rather than 24Mbs in a single RF channel)

What does 60p mean on a camera?
60p is suited for fast-paced sports where movements with 30p just don’t look as smooth as they should. Again, it is already suited to slow the motion down in an editing software and the motion looks still fluent. Slowing down for 48p and 60p is meant as ‘moderate’. Modern video camcorders in the upper consumer class can usually record native 60p.
