Fils du chirurgien Jacques-Simon Goujaud, et de Marguerite-Olive de La Coste, il a un frère Michel-Simon (1770-1850), docteur en médecine, et une sœur Élisabeth-Olive (1771-1852), épouse de Pierre Barthélemy Amable Honoré Gallocheau.
