Assembler je v informatice překladač z nízkoúrovňového jazyka blízkého jazyku procesoru (jazyk symbolických adres – JSA), který produkuje buď přímo spustitelný strojový kód, častěji však cílové moduly, které lze spojovacím programem sloučit do spustitelného programu.
