Eilat (hebräisch אילת? / i, arabisch إيلات), auch Elat oder Elath, bei Graetz und in der älteren deutschen Literatur Ailat, ist eine Stadt an der Südspitze Israels im Süden der Wüste Negev.Die am Golf von Akaba gelegene Stadt ist der einzige Zugang Israels zum Roten Meer und damit zum Indischen Ozean.Die Länge des israelischen Küstenabschnitts beträgt knapp zwölf Kilometer.
