The feldspathoids are a group of tectosilicate minerals which resemble feldspars but have a different structure and much lower silica content. They occur in rare and unusual types of igneous rocks, and are usually not found in rocks containing primary quartz. Les feldspathoïdes sont des minéraux anhydres appartenant à la famille des tectosilicates et chimiquement proches des feldspaths. La structure est plus ouverte de celle des feldspaths et les cations (sodium, potassium, calcium ...) occupent des cavités généralement plus grandes que celles des feldspaths, cavités qui forment des canaux dans lesquels des ions peuvent entrer et sortir et où de petites molécules peuvent circuler sans détruire la structure.
