Foix (/fwa/ est une commune française, ancienne capitale du comté de Foix, aujourd'hui préfecture du département de l'Ariège située en région Occitanie. Au recensement de 2017, la ville comptabilisait 9 532 habitants, ce qui en fait une des plus petites préfectures de France. Elle est moins peuplée que Pamiers, qui est l'une des deux sous-préfectures.
