Heterosociality is a term used in sociology. It refers to social relationships between persons of the opposite sex. It is the opposite of homosociality. Heterosocial interactions, or social interactions with peers of the opposite sex, may serve a number of developmental functions during adolescence.

No simple and singular determinant for sexual orientation has been conclusively demonstrated, but scientists believe that a combination of genetic, hormonal, and environmental factors determine sexual orientation. They favor biological theories for explaining the causes of sexual orientation, as there is considerably more evidence supporting nonsocial, biological causes than social ones, especially for males.

As explained in this article, heterosociality cannot accurately describe a whole social group seeing as how with 3 members, you will have 2 of the same sex (with exceptions made for intersexed individuals) or gender (transgendered/genderqueer individuals excepted). Homosociality can describe large groups however, so long as they are the same sex.
