Das Schwa oder e-Schwa (unterschieden von a-Schwa [ɐ]) bezeichnet einen Laut, der auch mittlerer Zentralvokal genannt wird. Dieser befindet sich artikulatorisch und akustisch im Vokaltrapez im Zentrum zwischen den anderen Vokalen. Im Deutschen erscheint er nur in unbetonten Silben (z.
