There is a car park with plenty of spaces. And a shopping centre very nearby with extra space should it happen to be full. To access the 1921 Census you have to be upstairs in the Census Room and connect to the ‘1921 Census’ Wi-Fi network if using your own device. I don’t believe it is accessible from the cafe which is downstairs. But I didn’t actually attempt it, so I can’t be 100% sure.

The National Archives welcomes visitors of all ages and is open Tuesday-Saturday (check our website for opening times), and every First Sunday of the month. Our free exhibition, café and grounds, where natural wildlife have settled, is open to all. For our younger visitors, free activities include an interactive family spy trail (smartphone with at least £1 credit required) and a family activity pack. We host several events throughout the week, such as talks, repository and exhibition tours and document displays. Check out our What's On programme on our website.
