May 06, 2012 · I didn’t deny Austrians have their own national identity and nation now but they are still ethnically German. 98% of Austria’s population are Germans. @ “Austrian” is a nationality, there is no ethnic group by Austrians are ethnic Germans. You cannot separate Germany and Austria history, until 1866 Austria was part of Germany’s history.
