A round represents about 6 seconds in the game world. During a round, each participant in a battle takes a turn. (PHB 189) So, according to the Player's Handbook, a turn is at most about 6 seconds long, because a round is comprised of many turns.
Basically, in combat tracking terms, a particular “round” like at where all the players, npcs, monsters and whatever the other effects have a chance for performing their “turn” or “actions” lasts about 6 seconds that means d&d 6 seconds.
A round of combat lasts for 6 seconds in D&D 5e. The round itself consists of a variable number of turns, all happening at more or less at the same time. Each turn lasts for 6 seconds as well, each resolving concurrently within the round.
A round and a turn share the same timespan, which is 6 seconds. The round is composed of the set of all the characters' and NPCs' turns. The order of the turns is determined by the initiative.
not a round, a turn. I know a round is 6 seconds. I see certain spells that are turns per level vs. rounds per level, sometimes combining the two (i.e. 1 turn + 1 round/level).

What is the difference between a round and turn?
This is counted as a specific ruling, technically. A round is about 6 seconds, meaning that a give or take of 1 second is allowed. So even though a ROUND is 5-7 seconds long, turns are different. A round is defined as a 5-7 second time-frame in which the full order of initiative is acted out until it resets to the highest initiative.

Nov 29, 2011 · I just wanted to share my thoughts on how long a turn, or full round of play, roughly translates to real life time. And when I say “round”, I mean Germany through to France. The way I see it, each round represents about 6 months of time. Round 1 is Spring/Summer 1940, Round 2 is Fall/Winter 1940, Round 3 is Spring/Summer 1941 etc….
