Steam Early Access enables you to sell your game on Steam while it is still being developed, and provide context to customers that a product should be considered "unfinished." Early Access is a place for games that are in a playable alpha or beta state, are worth the current value of the playable build, and that you plan to continue to develop for release.

Feb 22, 2016 · Feb 24, 2016 @ 1:44am. A concept that is great on paper but crap in practice. Early Access was devised to incentivize creativity and the creation of fun, inventive, out of the box titles with unconventional subject matter, gameplay mechanics or game design.

And today we wanted to talk about a topic that we are very familiar with: Steam Early Access. People usually look at Early Access as just a way to get some money to keep things rolling while you go through the final stages of development, but it can (and should) be much more than that.

Steam Early Access titles allow the community to get involved early and play select titles during their development. The goal of Early Access is to provide gamers with the chance to "go behind the scenes" and experience the development cycle firsthand and, more importantly, have a chance to interact with the developers by providing them feedback while the title is still being created.

Through this system, users can play an unfinished game and give developers proper critique and feedback. Of course, there are many variations to this definition as developers release their game in early access for different reasons.

Jul 26, 2015 · Early access means you get to play the game before they are done developing it and will get to keep the game after it is finished. They are not finished games however and will have bugs and missing features and content. So when the full version is out, the game will just update and i will not pay nothing else? correct...

Pros. More revenue now - In theory, launching on SEAG means an injection of cash right now. More exposure - Word of mouth marketing seems like it would get a shot in the arm, just from the increased number of people playing the game. Steam Front Page - Some SEAG games get front-page treatment, and that can be a huge marketing boost.
